As a team we are used to playing with the ball, linking up and building up the pitch but we just wasn't ready for Wyrleys hit over the top and hope it lands tactics. However they were successful with it with their faster players running through and a quick goal ensued.

Our heads dropped and we tried to get back into the game by rushing our distributions and attempted to force the ball through their backline without working with the ball as they normally do. Another two goals from Wyrley before half time really got to the team.

At half time we changed our formation just to shut down any opportunity of playing through the middle of the pitch and stop any attempts on our goal which was really successful and Wyrley was forced into taking longer ranged shots which Aaron, our keeper was more comfortable with.

With the change in tactics it did give us some excellent opportunities to get back into the game with Rio being taken down in the box. Unfortunately the lack of power on his recovering foot saw the keeper drop low and make a great save with Rio running for a rebound which was unsuccessful. After this we had three excellent on target shots from Maurice but we just couldn't get them in. On any other day we could have seen the score change to 4-3 with this same performance but it wasn't meant to happen.

One positive was that we reduced the amount of goals scored against us from the opposition since we last played them in preseason.

We will be ready for our return fixture where we will show Wyrley just how we play.
